A school was established in a neighborhood on the outskirts of Lahore to provide education to girls who otherwise had no access to a learning center. We are working on music and language based education programs in schools and colleges

in various villages across Gilgit Baltistan. Our first program started with the children at the local school in a village called Ghulkin where the children along with our friend and long term collaborator Jimmy Khan worked on a collaborative song in their regional language Wakhi – A language declared endangered by UNESCO with less than fifty thousand speakers of Wakhi remaining in the world.

Each day is spent rehearsing and exchanging ideas, arranging musical sections for all involved and finally recording the song. This provides an opportunity to the children to understand song-writing, musical structure, arrangement and recording; the spirit of collaboration and teamwork and most importantly the sheer joy of playing music with their friends. Our first music video from 2021 with Nasir Khusrow academy in Ghulkin Hunza, titled ‘Ishq e dem Jahon’ will be released soon.
