Explore the beauty of North Vietnam on a 14-day motorcycle tour. Discover the incredible beauty and fascination of this region as you travel through its stunning landscapes. From the breathtaking rice fields of Mu Cang Chai to the unique Rock Plateau in Ha Giang – Dong Van, and the incredible Ban Gioc Waterfalls, each place you visit will reveal a new sense of wonder.
You'll also get to explore the biggest natural lake in Vietnam, Ba Be Lake, and visit the famous Ha Long Bay. But it's not just about beautiful views. This tour also lets you learn about the local tribes and their culture and traditions. Your adventure will include a mix of exciting rides on roads and off-road trails, so you can have all the adventure you like. Plus, you'll have chances to visit historical places and experience local customs. This tour is like a painting of Vietnam's heritage, full of vivid colors and stories.

Please bring your home country license and an international driving license.
Upon request we can assist you in obtaining a Vietnamese driving license. You will be required to come to Hanoi 4 days prior to the start of the tour, and in this case you will also be required to obtain a 3 month resident visa instead or the 30 day tourist visa to Vietnam.
There is an additional cost of $450 per person if you want to obtain a Vietnamese driving license.

25th March: Visit the Department of Transportation in Hanoi to submit paperwork
26th March: Full day US Army Jeep Tour of Hanoi
27th March: Explore Hanoi

Itinerary and Map
DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN HANOI
Arrival in Hanoi A taxi will transport you from the airport to your hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter, taking approximately 45-60 minutes, depending on traffic. After checking in, you can rest at the hotel or explore Hoan Kiem Lake, given its proximity.
DAY 2: HANOI – HALONG BAY – LANHA BAY
The day begins with a pick-up from your hotel, and you'll be transferred to Halong Bay. En route, there's a 15-minute rest stop before reaching Tuan Chau Marina. Upon arrival, board a transit tender to your cruise. Enjoy welcome drinks, check-in to your cabin, and have lunch while cruising to the bay. The ship heads towards Dark and Bright cave for kayaking and swimming. After water activities, participate in Flower Carving guided by a skilled chef. Dinner featuring local cuisines is served on the ship, followed by free time or squid fishing. Rest for the night on the quiet bay.
Day 3: LAN HA – HALONG – HANOI
Start the day with a sunrise and Taichi practice. Explore the Tra Bau area, known for being a filming location for Kong: Skull Island, and enjoy the stunning scenery of Lan Ha Bay. Check-out is at 9:30 am, followed by brunch as the cruise heads back to Gia Luan for disembarkation. Return to Tuan Chau Marina via a transit tender, then transfer back to Hanoi.
DAY 4: HANOI - MAI CHAU
Leave Hanoi, heading north with Hong Son Lake on the side, offering magnificent scenery of tiny islands and limestone mountain peaks. In the afternoon, arrive at Mai Chau, explore the city, and attend a traditional Thai Dance show before spending the night in a Mai Chau homestay.
DAY 5: MAI CHAU - PHU YEN
170 km
After breakfast, embark on a motorbike tour to Phu Yen in North Vietnam. The ride offers stops for picturesque landscapes and visits to villages of local hill tribes. In the afternoon, enjoy a short but amazing ride along the Da River, concluding the day in the peaceful town of Phu Yen.
DAY 6: PHU YEN - TU LE
180 km
Take the route from Phu Yen to Tu Le via Mu Cang Chai, featuring beautiful rice terrace fields, colorful hill tribes, quiet traffic, and a long mountain pass with an imposing view. The ride offers many stops for pictures and visits to local people. Spend the night in Tu Le at a nice homestay.
DAY 7: TU LE - SAPA
180 km
Ride a winding road along the Hoan Lien Son mountain range, passing through a valley full of tea plantations and rice fields. Reach Sapa in the afternoon and spend the night in a hotel.
DAY 8: SAPA EXPLORE
50 km
Explore Ethnic Minority villages in Sapa, visiting Ta Phin, Xeo Villages, and engaging in activities such as cooking lunch for local schools. In the afternoon, ride and visit villages on the way back to the hotel.
DAY 9: SAPA - BAC HA - XI MAN
160 km
Head down to the center of Lao Cai province, stopping at Bac Ha's colorful market. Ride through a forest flushed with green land and spend the night in Xi Man.
DAY 10: XI MAN - HA GIANG
150 km
Start the day by visiting the local market, buying souvenirs, taking pictures, and interacting with local ethnic minorities. Test riding skills on challenging mountain passes, with lunch in Tan Quang. The last 50km to Ha Giang are more relaxing, with a potential visit to the hot springs of Thanh Ha. Spend the night in a hotel.
DAY 11: HA GIANG - DONG VAN - MEO VAC
170 km
Obtain a visit permit, continue the trip to Quang Ba, Dong Van, and Yen Minh regions. Have a break at an info coffee shop, visit Pho Bang, and ride over the Ma Pi Leng Pass with magnificent landscape views overlooking the Nho Que River. Reach Meo Vac and sleep at a hotel.
DAY 12: MEO VAC - BAO LAC - BA BE
120 km
Ride numerous passes, challenging riding skills on the meandering road, with stops as needed. The ride takes about 8 hours, including stops for food and drinks. Spend the night in a Tay community, sleeping in traditional stilt houses.
DAY 13: BA BE (VISIT AND RELAXATION)
Take a 2-hour boat cruise through Ba Be Lake, stopping at Dau Dang waterfall for lunch and optional swimming. Visit a primary school and the village located down the waterfall. Head to the An Ma temple, trek through the Ba Be rainforests, and spend the night in local stilt houses.
DAY 14: BA BE - HANOI
220 km
The last day of the journey, heading back to Hanoi. Take the west side of Ba Be Lake, passing the city of Thai Nguyen. Stop at Tow to visit the Vietnamese Ethnic Group Museum of Cultures.
